MOROCCAN STYLE RIB & CHICKEN SAUCE

NICOLETTE’S  MOROCCAN STYLE RIB & CHICKEN SAUCE

I make this yummy Rack of Lamb with all the East Indian spices and it is very unique unlike a Rosemary rub etc.   I thought why not try something different for rib or chicken.

I often make my own bbq sauce, but in a pinch, like yesterday, I just went with this, Diana Sauce was on sale and I had the spices and the Manwich too.  I like to have lots of these canned goods in my pantry for last minute meals like yesterday.

In this recipe, I did not include clove or paprika, but I might try adding that and see how it tastes.   On the lamb, the clove shines through with a mix of flavours.

Here is the recipe:

1 original bottle of Miss Diana Sauce
1 can of Manwich sauce (Hunts)

Spices as follows:

  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne powder
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ graham marsala
  • 1/8 turmeric powder
  • Pepper

Mix and slather onto ribs or chicken.  (I steam the ribs first, then use the sauce to cook a little more and baste once or twice if you like).  Hope to try this on the bbq this summer.  No photos yet of this finished recipe.

Makes a lot of sauce. You can probably freeze some unless you are making ribs for a big group.
